Pre-Sales Engineer - Wireless Service Providers - CHICAGO BASED

Job Description:

We seek an outstanding Network Sales Engineer to partner with the Sales team in reaching revenue goals through providing quality pre-sales technical support and presentations focused on articulating value to the customer.

We are currently seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer to work remotely in the Chicago area. In this role, you will represent our Test Measurement leader as the product solutions expert, insuring technical excellence in support of the sales process.

Position Responsibilities:
-Sell Service Assurance solutions for the client brands
-Responsible for primarily pre-sale and some post-sale support
-Provide technical support in sales presentations - manage Field Trials/Proof of Concepts/Evaluations
-Consultation to prospective clients - Visio network diagrams, call flows, etc.
-Provide informal product training to clients and team
-Some post sales support as needed, augmenting support team to insure we get the next deal
-Very technical hands-on position
-Identify compelling events or specific business problems and offer attractive solutions to the client
-Develop account sales strategies with the regional account team
-Assist the Sales Teams in making tactical decisions regarding the sale
-Provide expert consultation to the customer in our 'best practices' techniques
-Account responsibility for all lead technical activities. This includes building relationships across customer's IT silos to document their infrastructure, understand their challenges, and seek out potential projects
-Directly assist Sales teams in achieving financial targets via the sales process and assisting sales in accurately assessing and forecasting opportunities, as well as create and deliver complex demos
-Responsibilities will also include development of project scope and RFPs. Support post sales technical support as needed

Requirements:
-Proven pre-sales record of success and a solid understanding of the sales cycle selling to fortune 1000 corporations
-Background in Information Technology with emphasis on managing a distributed environment supporting disparate systems and/or providing Pre-Sales support in an equivalent environment
-Network Management experience required
-Experience designing /operating mobile packet core wireless networks
-Ability to synthesize complex data/information, apply knowledge of multi-platform, multi-technology environments and incorporate an in-depth understanding of business and technical implications to provide timely, cost effective, quality solutions or alternatives to customers
-Minimum of 5 years networking pre-sales technical support experience
-Strong experience in Networking with past experience as an Application Engineer or Sales Engineer
-Skilled presenter who demonstrates ease and technical credibility
-Proven success in a very fast-paced, high growth company
-BS in S/W Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
-CCNA and Linux Administration required

Travel required within the assigned territory and within the Region as required.

The individual must also possess technical skills that relate to these areas:
-Cisco (required)
-TCP/IP, SNMP, Netflow, VoIP
-Various topologies, LAN, WAN (MPLS, Frame, ATM)
-Trend analysis concepts, eBusiness concepts, -Network infrastructure concepts, Network -General knowledge, HP/OV, Tivoli, Mercury, Tektronix GeoProobe, Tekalek, Agilent, Micromuse NetCool a plus
-Network performance management, Fault/Alert management, nGenius product experience is an advantage, Operating systems (Linux, NT)
-Certification CCNP, CCIE, Mobile (GPRS, UMTS, CDMA, LTE, WIMAX) a plus

Other Important Qualities:
-Must understand the mobile wireless environment. Forge strong technical relationships with customers, while championing our solution to help them solve their complex problems. Hands on with protocol analyzers. Server configuration (Linux/Windows administration experience).
